South African players to travel to Adidas’ Germany HQ for getting new boots

Four South African cricket players have planned to travel to the Adidas headquarters in Germany to have custom-made playing boots to manage and minimize injuries in the future, designed as part of management’s efforts.

According to Sport24, Proteas team manager; Mohammed Moosajee said that that it was about exploring and exploiting the science and research available to them.

Graeme Smith, Rory Kleinveldt, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Morne Morkel and physiotherapist, Brandon Jackson, will make the three-day trip to the Nuremburg-based outlet, according to the report.
The report said that the players will be visiting the highly acclaimed research and development department where they will be put through assessments of their lower limb and foot biomechanics, before the correct bowling boots and running shoes are fitted along with in-shoe orthotics if necessary.
Test captain, Smith, is currently recovering from an ankle injury and is looking forward to an insightful experience from some of the top industry experts in the world, the report added.

He said that he was grateful to be associated with a brand like Adidas that could give him the opportunity to be the best he could be. (ANI)
