Indian Cricket Team Unveils New Adidas Kits for World Test Championship Final

The Indian cricket team is set to unveil their new uniforms during the World Test Championship final, which will commence on June 7th.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has recently entered into a new partnership agreement with renowned global sportswear brand Adidas, extending until March 2028. In an official statement, the BCCI confirmed that Adidas will be the exclusive provider of all match, training, and travel attire for the men’s, women’s, and youth cricket teams. The Indian team will showcase their new kits for the first time during the World Test Championship final against Australia, taking place at the Oval.

Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, expressed the significance of Adidas’ involvement, highlighting their esteemed sports heritage, top-quality products, and extensive global presence. He emphasized that Adidas will play a crucial role in driving performance and future achievements across various categories of Indian cricket.

Neelendra Singh, the General Manager of Adidas India, described the partnership as a momentous occasion for the brand. He expressed pride in seeing the Indian cricket team donning the iconic three stripes, emphasizing their commitment to delivering high-performance products for the athletes. Singh also conveyed their excitement about connecting with consumers through India’s beloved sport, cricket. Adidas firmly believes in the potential of cricket in India, and this collaboration with the BCCI will facilitate accelerated growth and further enhance their presence in the region.

Singh further highlighted Adidas’ rich history in sports, evident through their long-standing and innovative partnerships with esteemed organizations like the World Champions AFA, the All Blacks, Major League Soccer, and numerous sports teams worldwide. The new partnership with the BCCI will strengthen the brand’s footprint in the region and reinforce their dedication to promoting sports in India.

It is worth noting that in August 2020, the BCCI initiated a fresh tender for the rights to the national team’s kit and merchandise. Subsequently, in November of the same year, following the conclusion of Nike’s 15-year association with the BCCI, the board awarded the kit-sponsorship rights to MPL Sports, an e-sports platform, on a three-year contract.
